Within the old report, the users were supposed to switch between different backlink indexes depending upon what they wanted to see: live, recent, historical.
They were not easy to write tooltip for, which might be a reason for creating confusion for the users.
Now, everything has turned to be an easy nut to crack.
After the advent of Backlink 2.0, you will be able to see all live backlinks regardless of your Ahrefs plan.
Furthermore, there will be no requirement of switching between separate indexes to access historical data. The date selector can be used to choose the timeframe you want to compare data for.
Thereby, on the Lite plan, you will be able to see live backlinks and explore changes over the last six months. The same goes for those who have a standard plan, except they can have data for the last two years.
When it comes to the advanced and agency plans, they get the full history.
Combined Reports
Before the change, the “new” and “lost” backlink reports existed as separate reports. Now, they have been integrated.
You need to use the toggle in Backlinks 2.0 to select what you want to see: new, lost, or all backlinks.
New Filters And Backlinks
More details have been added in statuses for backlinks identification; it made it easy to filter any metric you see in the report.
- You can zoom in on the data using the new advanced text filters for referring and targeting URLs, titles, anchors, and surrounding texts. They work with “contains/doesn’t contain.”
- You can differentiate easily between the new links that were published alongside a new page and new links that were added to an existing page.
- Identify the lost links that were also regained.
- Zoom in on the lost backlinks depending on the reason why they were lost.
- Create a difference between the links to web pages and links to all sorts of other files.
