New Adobe Photoshop Feature: Protection For Your NFTs From Theft
What’s The Hot Topic?
With NFT being a hot topic around the world, software majors are running for coming up for their user base with functionalities around the new form of digital assets.
Adobe is going to join the list soon with the potential that it is going to allow the users to mark their artwork as a non-fungible token right on photoshop.
More About The New Function
It will be a part of the ‘Content Credentials’ that will be projected by Adobe.
- The content credential can be considered to be a new initiative by Adobe whose purpose is to provide and access digital content provenance with attribution.
- In other words, it is going to help in the recording of ownership of works of art.
- This feature will be available on all key Adobe software including photoshop, stock, Behance, and others.
- For other creations, it will allow creators to protect their NFT creations.
- These creators will be able to link their Adobe ID with their crypto wallets.
- This is going to turn into a mark of assurance of marketplaces that NFTs by a particular creator are authentic.
How It Came Into Notice?
This feature was hinted at during an interview of Adobe’s chief product officer Scott Belsky with Decoder.
- It was first spotted by The Verge, Scott confirmed during the interview that the feature is going to be built into Photoshop as a ‘prepare as NFT option’.
- He also mentioned that the feature will be launched in preview by the end of this month.
- After its release, NFT marketplaces will have the potential to integrate with content credentials and hence attribution information of Adobe.
- The feature is going to be a huge step in the direction of the prevention of NFT art theft.
More About NFTs
For those who are unaware of this term or non-fungible tokens, these tokens are digital assets that are unique and can have unique ownership.
For understanding better, take an example of a valuable painting in real life and there is an auction for that. After the bid, there will be one owner of the painting. There will be no other painting and no other owner.
- So, NFTs are ownerships that are digital.
- The term has got its name from the economic term “fungible”, which means replaceable by another item or manually interchangeable.
That’s why NFTs are digital assets, which means they are not interchangeable with anything else in the world due to which they possess a unique value.
