Xiaomi MI 12 | TeQBlogs

Xiaomi MI 11 got our appraisal, but a successor MI 12 can always do something better. Though there are not many leaks about the phone, you will possibly see all that we are going to mention.

The rest of the news may be heard by the end of this year. Let’s get started!

Mi 12: Release Date And Price

Xiaomi is a weird company in terms of releasing its phones. Judging the phone on the basis of the Mi 11 series, Mi 12 will not bring much difference.

The series was first unveiled in December 2020 in a China-only launch. It took over a few months to get launched for the global markets and finally got re-launched in February 2021.

It took another month to start the sales. This seems to be a bizarre timetable that lowers the craze of the masses by the time phone gets released. We hope that Xiaomi doesn’t repeat this timetable.

When it comes to discussing the price, we can again go to the Mi 11 for guidance. The phone costs around $1,040, which brings it on the line with Samsung Galaxy S21 and One Plus 9 in terms of price.

Mi 12: News And Leaks

We haven’t heard anything significant about the phone. The most surprising thing is that Xiaomi has introduced a new tech called Xiaomi HyperCharger that offers 200W wired charging and 120W wireless charging.

However, the company has not confirmed that whether this technology will be there in Mi 12 or not. But we can expect this technology to arrive us with the new series.

What Do We Want To See?

Our wishlist for Mi 12 is based on Mi 11 series and other Xiaomi phones as well. Besides this, we are going to consider what its competitors are doing.

Lower prices

When Xiaomi stepped into the western phone markets, it made a name for itself with its ‘flagship killer’ phone, which had similar things to offer when compared with Samsung and One Plus.

The difference was seen in the price, which made Xiaomi more preferable. With Mi 11, the case was not the same because the vanilla and the ultra model matched their rivals in terms of prices.

Though Mi 11 was not much expensive, the company was out of the competition. We hope Mi 12 brings back Xiaomi in the competition so that the company can put itself in a palpable way.

If this also has an ultra model, then we would like to know about its price because Mi 11 was not under an affordable range.

A cleaner user interface

Xiaomi uses the MIUI, the Android fork, which has some really great features. To disappoint the users, on the other hand, it has some horrible ones as well.

We would say that the company needs to look into those. The MIUI offers the users various customization options, which are more than other Android forks, and the interface has solid security.

Besides these strong points, it also bears bloatware, which has an annoying security scan pop-up every time you install an app. These issues are something that needs to be fixed by the company if it wants people to accept the phone wholeheartedly.

New photography modes

Camera

This is something that we have seen and will be seeing in the future. But we are adding it to our wishlist because we definitely want to see it.

Usually, Xiaomi brings new things for videography and photography, which its rivals fail to bring. It offers effects-heavy video modes, which are called movie effects, automatic color editing (more in-depth just than filters).

Also, it has a sky editing mode that lets the user completely change the skyline and weather effects for photos. Still, we are excited to see what the Mi 12 brings, as the fun mode will make using a camera not less than a treat.

Battery life

The Mi 11 faced a consistent problem, which was about bad battery life. The software and features were not optimized, which became a reason for draining the battery.

The ultra model had an overheating problem, which caused the charge to plummet. We want to see whether Xiaomi looks into the matter with the upcoming model or not.

Improved fingerprint scanner

Xiaomi phones have an in-screen fingerprint scanner, but some are not less than a mess.

Some may be temperamental, which means your finger can get rejected even if it should work. This can sometimes be an issue with the app, but majorly it’s with the sensor.

According to us, Xiaomi needs to figure out this issue because it becomes annoying sometimes.
